WordPress is the better choice when you need speed to market, a familiar editorial interface for non-technical teams, and a large plugin ecosystem. Sulu CMS is the better choice for complex multilingual sites with structured content models, stricter editorial workflows or enterprise governance requirements. WooCommerce works well for small to mid-sized stores — up to a few thousand products and modest traffic. For high-volume catalogues, complex B2B pricing, multi-warehouse inventory or heavy customisation, we recommend Sylius, Shopware or Magento instead. The line is around €1–2M in annual revenue — beyond that, the WooCommerce overhead usually outweighs the simplicity benefit.
Yes — using a child theme and custom plugin to override templates and add functionality without touching the parent theme files. This keeps your customisations safe when the parent theme updates. If the existing theme is heavily modified or based on a page builder, we'll assess whether it's cleaner to start fresh.
